Presentation Senior Hurlers turn on the style to defeat Arklow CBS

The Presentation College got off to a wining start in the South-Leinster D championship as they overcame Arklow CBS on a score-line of 3.14 to 1.4. On a bitterly cold morning, the Pres made a bright start with early points from Seán Buggy, Shane McCarthy, Paul Grey and Dylan McGrath. Peter Lynch netted the first goal of the day shortly before the break to leave the half-time score 1-7 to 0.2.

To their credit, Arklow battled hard and scored an early second half goal from a free to reduce the margin back to six points. However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed by Sam Griffin who fired home minutes later. Further points from McGrath and the excellent Shane McCarthy kept the score board ticking over before James Ingram blasted the third and final goal to seal a comfortable victory. Attention now turns to next Wednesday when the lads play Tullow CS for a place in the South-Leinster semi-final.
