Chess Congratulations

Congratulations to Leo Bramrock, Dylan Byrne, Keelan Reynolds and Owen Zheu who came Third overall in the South-Eastern leg of the All-Ireland Checkmate competition last Friday. They are now through to the All Ireland Finals next year. Well done to Dibsan Rijal who placed sixth overall out of 100 players. Click on the heading for more photos from the event.


Michael Represents Ireland in Rowing

Huge Congratulations to Michael Duke,  who represented Ireland with the junior national rowing squad in Strathclyde Park Scotland at the Home International Regatta on the 27th July. Michael and his Neptune club mate and pair partner Tommy were selected for the Irish Junior men’s (Under 19) team and competed against crews representing England, Scotland and Wales. Michael raced alongside his teammates in the 8 finishing 2nd and in the 4 finishing 3rd. It was a great experience for Michael and an honour to represent Ireland. Presentation College/Gaelcoláiste Carlow: 2.6   Scoil Aireagail: 4.10 Pres had plenty of heroes on the day with Callum Nolan Swayne and the McGrath twins, Josh and Alex, playing a leading role alongside team Captain Jack McDonald, while First Year student Danny McMahon had an excellent game, finishing with 1.5 to his name. Presentation College sent an excellent group of students to the Chess Tournament in Knockbeg yesterday. We competed against FCJ Bunclody, Tullow Community School and Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach and St. MAry's Knockbeg College. First Place - Dibsan Rijal  Second Place - Albert Nawrocki  Third Place - Séan Bradley  

Team Awards: First Place: Leo Bramrock,  Owen Zhou, Dibsan Rijal, Séan Bradley and Albert Nawrocki. Second Place: Keelan Reynolds, Dylan Byrne, Marc Mulhall, Eoghan Brennan and Masrafi Islam. Third Place went to a team from FCJ Bunclody. Chess club is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 1.20-1.55pm in Room 12. All Welcome! Click on heading for more...
