We were delighted to be selected for the BLAST Arts-in-Education Residency Programme, an initiative by the Department of Education. We were paired with artist Sonya Weston. Our Transition Year students had the opportunity to participate in a two-day workshop, where they explored a range of printing techniques. This hands-on experience allowed students to fully engage in the artistic process—something that isn’t always possible within the constraints of the regular school timetable. We had three winners in the Tinryland Christmas Fair Art Competition. Second Place: Isabelle Mc Cormack in First Year. Congratulations to Second Year student Megan Hosey, who received an award for her entry in the Creative Ireland “Empowering Women Art Competition”. Megan was awarded second place in the competition and received a €100 One 4 All Gift Voucher at a Ceremony in Carlow College on International Women’s Day. First Year student Ally O’Brien also had her entry on display.
