More than 50 Music students from Transition, Fifth and Sixth Year went to the George Bernard Shaw Theatre at Visual today. Carlow Institute's Music Performance and Performing Arts courses presented a showcase of their work called Dream. They performed Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Scattered Light, a live music performance featuring songs by AC/DC, Evanescence, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, 4 Non Blondes and lots more. Our students loved the performances and had a lovely day out.

On the 20/3/23 the Art Department brought a group of Fifth Years to The Van Gogh Immersive Art Exhibition in Artane, Dublin. The exhibition blends art and technology, bringing the most iconic works of Van Gogh’s to life. On the day the students enjoyed a combination of visuals, light and sound in an innovative new way to experience art. It gave students the opportunity to be able to step into famous paintings like Starry Night and Sunflowers and view them in a new exciting way. Second Year students had a talk on Friday from representatives from the HOPE Foundation in relation to an upcoming immersion programme in India. Contact Ms. Murphy or Ms. Coburn if you would like further information. The trip is being planned for September/October 2024.  

Business Trip to Butlers' Chocolate Factory

First Year Business Studies students in Presentation College Carlow got the opportunity on January 12th to visit Butlers' Choclate Factory and to see what really goes on behind the doors of a working factory. They got the chance to learn about how Butlers Chocolates have grown to be a true Irish success story since its beginnings in 1932 and of course taste some chocolate!  They were accompanied by teachers - Ms Byrne, Ms Fogarty, Mr Fennell and Ms Gibbons.
