Presentation College took on Tyndall on a very cold morning on December 5th in Presentation College. The game started off even enough, both teams having their chances. Tyndall got the opening goal from well worked corner. Presentation College pushed for the equaliser through Summer Doorley's good work down the right hand side but couldn’t get one. It was 1-0 to Tyndall at the half time break. The start of the second half Presentation College kept pushing for the equaliser and eventually got their reward through a fine finish from Clara Bajo Monfort. Tyndall then got the winning goal at the end of the game. the game finished 2-1 to Tyndall. Best players for Presentation College were Gráinne Thompson and Summer Doorley.

It was a Tuesday morning in the plots. Pres Carlow took on Tullow in a highly anticipated game. Sophie Moran took the lead for Pres early on with a nice finish inside 5 minutes. Pres continued to dominate and were soon rewarded with a second goal tucked away by Clara Banjo who had a great performance for the blue, red and green of Pres. Tullow pushed valiantly to get back in the game but to no avail thanks to great defending by Chloe Ryan. Aisling Connolly was causing severe for Tullow down the left hand side. Pres kept Tullow scoreless at the break. Second half started with Tullow pushing on looking to reduce the deficit but Joanne Cranny pulled out multiple great saves. The captain Sarah Duffy was leading by example on the wing. The defence held Tullow out and the game finished 2-0 to Pres.Best players for Pres were Aisling Connolly, Erika Hennessy and Grainne Thompson. It was a great overall team performance for Tullow and it was a great game for the mutuals.

On Tuesday 28th November we hosted a College Fair in our school library. We had all our Fifth and Sixth Year students in attendance, along with Sixth Year students from Gaelcholáiste Ceatharlach. On Tuesday morning eighty-one Transition Year students along with eight enthusiastic teachers embarked on a busy and exciting three-day trip to visit three different countries. Meeting at Askea Church the group travelled by coach to Dublin Airport. The flight to Brussels was enjoyable, with wonderful views of Belgium. The group then travelled by coach to the Theme Park in EFTELING. Click on the link for more information! That night following an evening meal, the tired, but happy group checked into the hotel. The following morning - Wednesday, the group headed to Germany. Here they visited the Cathedral in Cologne (Köln), the Lindt Chocolate Museum and enjoyed a cruise on the Rhine. After that, there was free time to enjoy the Christmas Markets and the ambience of the city. Thursday morning the group left the hotel and travelled to Brugge in Belgium. Here they explored the lovely city and enjoyed a canal cruise, learning all about the history of the city from the tour guide. That afternoon the group returned to Brussels Airport and flew home. It was an enjoyable and exciting three days. Thanks to Ms Murphy - our Transition Year Co-ordinator for organising the trip.

Congratulations to the Presentation College students who recently received their JPII Awards. At a recent ceremony in St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen nine students from Presentation College were presented with their Awards by Fr. John Dunphy. The Pope John Paul II Award was created to commemorate the late Pope John Paul II who was so committed to young people and who had such belief and confidence in them. The Award is a faith achievement award for young people between the ages of sixteen and eighteen. It is non-competitive, inclusive, flexible and voluntary. The Awards available are Bronze, Silver, Gold and the Papal Cross. Congratulations to the nine students, who received their awards from Fr Dunphy. Gold: Lexie Doogue, Maeve Dempsey and Matthew Hosey; Papal Cross: Amy Keating, Anna Miller, Annie Sheehan, Ava Sheehan, Danielle O’Driscoll and Rachel Hand......Click on the heading for more.
