Equality Week 2024

Our Student Council in Presentation College spent last week highlighting the importance of equality in our everyday lives. With the help of our Equality Officer Nothabo in Third Year many students took part in a video displaying messages of equality and what it means for each one of us in our school community. All enjoyed the video on Friday morning.. We were reminded that equality is about realising that we all have differences but taking into account that our rights should be the same. Some of the quotations on our morning announcements were:  "Your value does not decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth" "Equality is about realising that we all have differences but taking into account that our rights should be the same." Student Council meeting today (Thursday) in Room 2 at 1:30. All class representatives must attend.

They are making suggestions and giving feedback on our schools Anti-bullying Policy and our Code of Behaviour. Today (9/11/2023) we have four delegates from our Student Council: Clodagh, Roisin, Lily and Nothabo, representing our school at the Carlow-Kilkenny Regional Council of Schools in SETU. Here they will meet with other Student Council members from various schools in Carlow and Kilkenny and take part in elections for Regional Officers. They will also get involved in various workshops organised by the Irish Second-Level Students' Union to inspire personal growth, development and leadership skills. This is a wonderful opportunity for these students and we look forward to hearing their feedback at our next Student Council meeting.

Annual Prize-Giving Awards Ceremony 2022

Our Annual Awards Prize-Giving Ceremony took place recently to recognise all the achievements by our students both academically and through extra-curricular activities throughout the year.
The awards ranged from Sporting Achievements, Musician of the Year, Student of the Year, AILO/AIPO, Student Council, CEIST, Bridin Quinn, Amanda O'Mahony Memorial German Award.
It was very uplifting to recognise the continuous hard work being done by all our staff and students both inside and outside of the classroom, particularly during a most difficult year.

We congratulate all our worthy award winner recipients and thank them for always representing themselves and our school with such pride and honour. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.  Click HERE for information on the awards and photos.

Our Student Council recently decided to help out in our combat against litter here in Presentation College.  A competition was launched to see who could come up with the best idea and Kelly in Second Year won a One4All voucher for her idea to try and include as many students as possible in helping to keep our beautiful school grounds clean. On Monday, she was helped by Sammy.  A big thank you to their first helpers: First Years, Karina, Rory, Byron and Leo, who had a very big litter haul under a beautiful blue sky.  Student Council are also looking forward to the arrival of new litter bins to help in the fight against littering.  We hope students will realise how important it is to use the litter bins provided and to protect our environment.
