These pictures are from the Third National Championship for Kyujutsu in Germany. Many countries participated, mainly Germany, Ireland and England. Two Irish dojo’s attended. Ireland brought back many rewards from the tournament. Our dojo also won the second best Clan award. We did three different types of shooting. Speed shooting, precision shooting and tower shooting. Cody (Fifth Year) is currently in 2nd place in the Irish National Downhill Mountainbike Series (IDMS). He is competing this weekend in the final round of the IDMS at Glencullen Adventure Park. This year he competed in races across the country from Rostrevor, Co. Down to Shronaboy Farm, Killlarney. Cody is a member of Bree Racing MTB Club. He races Enduro and Downhill. Downhill is definitely his favourite. Wishing Cody the best of luck this weekend.

Our Annual Awards Prize-Giving Ceremony took place recently to recognise all the achievements by our students both academically and through extra-curricular activities throughout the year.
The awards ranged from Sporting Achievements, Musician of the Year, Student of the Year, AILO/AIPO, Student Council, CEIST, Bridin Quinn, Amanda O'Mahony Memorial German Award.
It was very uplifting to recognise the continuous hard work being done by all our staff and students both inside and outside of the classroom, particularly during a most difficult year.
We congratulate all our worthy award winner recipients and thank them for always representing themselves and our school with such pride and honour. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours. Click HERE for information on the awards and photos.

Of the nine students who took part in the preliminary round of the All-Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) on Wednesday 2nd February, we are delighted to announce that two of our students qualified in the top 100 in the whole of Ireland. Two Fifth Year students, Jake Baker and Oliwier Jakubiec have been invited to participate in the All-Ireland National Final on Wednesday March 9th in DCU. A fantastic achievement! ....

Congratulations to Ellie Dowling, who has been selected for the Ireland girls under 17 Basketball panel.

Congratulations also to Mr Homan, who is to be honoured at the 2021 Federation of Irish Sport Awards. He is a national winner for his voluntary work promoting basketball.

We are delighted to say that in our first competitive tournament we placed first. With 91 players competing in the tournament (thirteen of whom were Presentation College students) we had six players in the top ten and nine players in the top twenty. Thanks also to all the staff who are supporting Chess Club and we are delighted to continue to see new students and staff members joining. Chess Club runs on Thursdays at 1.20pm in G2.

We are delighted to announce two students from Presentation College, Carlow have won some prizes in Energia's Seachtain na Gaeilge All Ireland competitions. Seán (Second Year) from Ms. Ryan's class wrote a poem titled 'An tEarrach' which describes the beautiful flowers, animals playing and the excitement of Easter coming. Seán received Second Prize in the division First to Third Year. Eva (Fifth Year) from Ms. Breen's class wrote a poem titled 'Go Deireadh a tSaoil' in memory of Nadine. On Monday 25th January eight students tackled the first round of the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad. Congratulations to Asia Aloi, Jake Baker, Oliwier Jakubiec, Damian Korus, Gellert Moravcsik, Hannah Regan, Chloe Ryan and Eoin Walsh who all took part in the competition. The top four top students in the individual category of the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) are selected to represent Ireland at the International Linguistics Olympiad. Congratulations to Presentation College Carlow's minor girls’ soccer team who were crowned Region 3 Minor Schools Soccer League champions last year. The team overcome teams such as Borris Vocational school, Scoil Chríost Rís and local rivals St. Leo's college. The girls had a fantastic season and their teachers Ms. Ryan and Ms. Kinsella are very proud of their achievements this year.
