We celebrated Think Languages Week in Presentation College once again this year. This is a national campaign, where Transition Years organise activities in the school to raise awareness about different languages. 

    

Our Champion Team worked on planning various activities for students. They selected Christmas as a theme for the German classes and students wrote christmas cards in as many languages as they could, worked on puzzles and played card games and of course had a quiz.  Background music, thanks to Ciaran - the Production Manager, was Christmas music. The Team Captain was Zahin and all members had roles. Victoria was Research Manager finding out the number of languages spoken by students in the school and adding these to a poster to be displayed. She was also the main photographer. The Scheduling Manager was Olwyn, who ensured all ran smoothly and that as many students as possible were involved in the various events. Maja  was the Marketing and Social Media Manager and the entire team worked together on preparing the school and handing out language booklets that we had received from Languages Connect Second Year CSPE classes were involved in surveying their peers about the languages being spoken. Ms Gibbons organised to have lovely posters printed displaying the information gained from the School of Sanctuary surveys about the languages spoken by students in their homes. Small versions can be seen on the display screen at the entrance of the school.
