On the 20/3/23 the Art Department brought a group of Fifth Years to The Van Gogh Immersive Art Exhibition in Artane, Dublin. The exhibition blends art and technology, bringing the most iconic works of Van Gogh’s to life. On the day the students enjoyed a combination of visuals, light and sound in an innovative new way to experience art. It gave students the opportunity to be able to step into famous paintings like Starry Night and Sunflowers and view them in a new exciting way. First Year students in Ms. Breen, Mr. O’Connor and Ms. Ryan’s classes took part in a Céilí in the Gaelcholáiste on Tuesday morning as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations.

Our First Year Girls Basketball Team played a very competitive Quarter-Final v Moate CS today, and thankfully came out on the winning side. Well done everyone. Roll on the Semi-Final.

Enterprise Awards

TY Mini Company #StudentEnterprise Programme! ‘Cover Up’ is an innovative method to protect cups from unwanted visitors. Transition Year students Lexi Mia, Kayla and Jan have enjoyed their entrepreneurial journey with teacher Ms. Vanessa Byrne. They received the Best in School Award this week. Carlow Schools Duathlon

On Monday March 6th a group of Transition Year girls took part in a local inter-school fun cycling and running event at 11.30am at SLOT. The emphasis was on participation and keeping girls active. It was a great event. Thanks to Ms. Kavanagh and Mr. Bailey for organising.

Second Year students had a talk on Friday from representatives from the HOPE Foundation in relation to an upcoming immersion programme in India. Contact Ms. Murphy or Ms. Coburn if you would like further information. The trip is being planned for September/October 2024.
