This week over forty Third Years are experiencing a trip of a lifetime to Paris. Third Year students in front of the Sacré Coeur, from the top of the Arc de Triomphe and top of the Montparnasse tower. Click on heading for more photos.

On Tuesday morning eighty-one Transition Year students along with eight enthusiastic teachers embarked on a busy and exciting three-day trip to visit three different countries. Meeting at Askea Church the group travelled by coach to Dublin Airport. The flight to Brussels was enjoyable, with wonderful views of Belgium. The group then travelled by coach to the Theme Park in EFTELING. Click on the link for more information! That night following an evening meal, the tired, but happy group checked into the hotel. The following morning - Wednesday, the group headed to Germany. Here they visited the Cathedral in Cologne (Köln), the Lindt Chocolate Museum and enjoyed a cruise on the Rhine. After that, there was free time to enjoy the Christmas Markets and the ambience of the city. Thursday morning the group left the hotel and travelled to Brugge in Belgium. Here they explored the lovely city and enjoyed a canal cruise, learning all about the history of the city from the tour guide. That afternoon the group returned to Brussels Airport and flew home. It was an enjoyable and exciting three days. Thanks to Ms Murphy - our Transition Year Co-ordinator for organising the trip.

On Tuesday, 10th January Presentation College hosted a German Cultural Event for students from three different schools that took place in the Visual in Carlow, Gingerbread men were baked by Aoife and Clodagh for the over 150 participants. This week a large group of Transition Years have travelled to Germany. We wish them a safe and enjoyable trip. This photo is from Cologne and is in front of the famous cathedral.

Today Transition Years took part in the National #ThinkLanguages Event for the first time in Presentation College. Special thanks to our team of Language Champions Ben, Cathal,  Lexie, Lucy and Mia who planned and ran the morning. Click on the heading for more information and photos. 

These pictures are from the Third National Championship for Kyujutsu in Germany. Many countries participated, mainly Germany, Ireland and England. Two Irish dojo’s attended. Ireland brought back many rewards from the tournament. Our dojo also won the second best Clan award. We did three different types of shooting. Speed shooting, precision shooting and tower shooting. For  photos and more information, please click on the heading.

On Friday two Third Year classes enjoyed a German Breakfast. They are currently working on the topic of Food, and an authentic German Breakfast with German music was enjoyed by all. Click on the heading for more photos.

What a better way to start our new term than with our traditional Semaine Française!
We kickstarted the day with Speed dating en Français for Fifth Years, while Transition Years learned about the traditional French boules game and then braved the cold to try it out for themselves. Photos and more news to follow. 🇫🇷
