Recently, our Student Council hosted our first Walk In My Shoes event. Students and staff were encouraged to come to school wearing funky shoes with the aim of encouraging everyone to walk in someone else’s shoes and therefore be more conscious of the struggles that others may be going through on a daily basis. The W.I.M.S, national, campaign aims to promote positive mental health and reduce the stigma around it. On the day, Student Council organised fun activities, a raffle and tuck shop. To end the day, all students took part in our school Slí na Sláinte walk and were treated to an ice-pop in the sunshine. A donation of €500, from proceeds raised, was made to Carlow Regional Youth Services who provide a wellbeing, counselling and support service for young people in Carlow.
