Green School News

Meetings continue to take place on Tuesday's in Room 24. We had our second inspection on Thursday with Shane the Biodiversity Officer from Wexford County Council. Ralph was posing with some of our Third Year members and we are looking forward to completing our Application for the Biodiversity Green Flag this week.



Amber Refuge Visit

We were very grateful to have @amberwomensrefuge visit our TY students recently. Students created eight point stars. Amber’s One Million Stars Ireland project is an inclusive community arts project connecting communities across Ireland in solidarity against domestic abuse and all forms of violence.  Each eight-point star woven represents light, hope and solidarity against violence, promoting our project’s eight points of healthy love within relationships.

his Monday 20th of November we celebrate a Universal Children's Day.  To mark this occasion, we are going to treat our students with: a no uniform day ( no charge), music in the canteen during the lunch break, and sweets  being delivered straight after the exams. (TY students involved)

Bake Sale in aid of Rainbows

There will be a 'Bake Sale' this Friday in aid of Carlow Rainbows Bereavement Group. Donations of buns, cakes (homemade or bought!) would be most welcome in morning! If not please support the sale by buying a cake. No card facilties so hard cash necessary!

Our TY girls had a wonderful day at this year's Shine Festival marking International Women's Day. The girls enjoyed motivational guest speakers such as Irish Olympic Boxer Kellie Harrington, as well as some mindfulness techniques and of course a dance off to conclude the day. We all left feeling inspired and supported by our female colleagues and friends.

Éist presented with cheque from the 'Tractor Run'

Presentation College Tractor Run took place on the 12th of March this year in aid of Éist Cancer Support Centre. Students who organized the event managed to raise an amazing 5,702.75 for the charity. Glen Burke (Sixth Year) presents the cheque to Éist Service Manager Lorna McGrath last Thursday, also pictured are Fifth and Sixth Year students from the organizing committee.
