This year is a challenging one for students and their families. Bishop Denis has made a short video which we are sharing with all students at this time. Click on this link to view it: Catholic Schools Week
Below is a message from Ms Egan:
Each year at this time we celebrate “Catholic Schools Week” as a school community. This year the themes of Faith, Hope, Resilience, Love and Community have never been more important as we adapt to the fast pace of change and challenges in the world.
Thanks to technology we can still share in this celebration with some thoughts and reflections throughout the week. Please feel free to take a moment to read the following quotes and reflection on today’s theme;
FAITH
“Our humanity, our community response, our FAITH and our dedication has served as a beacon of light for many during the darkness and difficulty of the last few months. Let us keep this beacon burning brightly to make sure no one is left alone as we forge a new normal in our lives.” Deacon Brian Williams
American poet Amanda Gorman captured the world’s attention with her stirring reading of “The Hill We Climb,” she composed in honour of the 46th presidential inauguration. The 22-year-old’s words reflect this day in history and the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
Just like President Joe Biden, Gorman had a speech impediment as a child and worked tirelessly to become the speaker she is today. She is the youngest poet to ever give a reading at a presidential inauguration—and her words now resonate worldwide, offering a fresh perspective for hope and faith.
