Heather Cowan Awards

Sep 24 2021

On Wednesday 22nd September nineteen young people from Graiguecullen/Killeshin parish received their Heather Cowan Award. This is the third year the parish and Cowen family have presented the awards in memory of a very special young person Heather Cowan, who passed away three years ago.

Presentation College has had recipients of this Award each year. This year the recipients are: Ben Hovenden Damian Korus Jodie Dooley Salter. We would like to thank them for their service to their school and parish.

These young people, who have all recently completed their time in post-primary, will received this award for their outstanding dedication and work in the parish. At their Confirmation they made a promise to get involved in their church and so, over the past five or six years they have been involved in the various ministries as Readers, Ministers of Holy Communion, leaders of the Children’s Choir, members of the Youth Choir, Sunday School leaders, PowerPoint Operators and most recently as Stewards and helping with sanitising in our churches.

Mr Murray was delighted to be able to attend the special Mass and ceremony. We wish them every blessing as they journey on to the next stage of their education, work life or wherever their path takes them. Former recipients from Presentation College were: Matthew Hosey and Aoife Whelan in 2019 and Sally Amond, Amelia Chodorska, Ailís Coyne-Chapman and Aidan Monaghan in 2020.
