Our TY Young St. Vincent de Paul (YSVP) group are launching their annual SVP Christmas Food Appeal this week.

The group would be so grateful for your support. Donations of non-perishable food items can be left in the decorated shopping trolley in the front hall. Donated food will be collected at the end of the month by our local branch of SVP and hampers will be distributed in early December. All hampers will go directly to local families in need this Christmas. Year on year the need for support rises in Carlow and indeed around the country, so all donations will be very much appreciated.

Thank you as always for your support and generosity.

India

The very best of luck to the seven students and three teachers heading to India tomorrow. They will fly to Kolkata and spend a week helping the children in the slums of India and experiencing the culture. On the 9th of September, all the classes in Transition Year went on a trip to Causey Farm in Meath. We started off the day by meeting the farm animals, we saw puppies, rabbits, pigs, sheep, cattle and even deer! We had a fun time learning how to make our own soda bread which we all got to enjoy later in the day. We got the chance to test-run some of their exciting scares they are getting ready for Farmaphobia! It was very scary but everyone had great craic. We then went bog jumping, it was a great experience and really pushed everyone to try something new and get out of their comfort zones, it was very muddy but that's the fun of it! Everyone was very exhausted after the long, but great day, everyone agreed that it is definitely a day to remember and everyone has a lot of funny memories from the excellent day out.
