Liam Lawton’s song ‘One Step Beyond’ was recently recorded by First, Fifth and Sixth Year students in honour of Nano Nagle and the Presentation Sisters. Our very talented Head Boy, Aaron Smith, recorded the song and created the video, in addition to singing the song with his classmates. Music Department students decided to record the song as we couldn’t have our usual Presentation Day celebration this year. The recording is dedicated to three Presentation Sisters from our local schools who passed away in 2021 Sr. Patricia O’Byrne, Sr. Kathleen Hendron and Sr. Mary Keary, and all the Presentation Sisters around the world.

This Christmas we could not sing together and make music together like we look forward to and enjoy so much every year in Presentation College, Carlow. We felt we could not let the year that was 2020 close without performing a firm favourite of ours from all the Christmas carols, ‘O Holy Night’. For the last ten years the annual carol service in Presentation College has finished with ‘O Holy Night’ and we really wanted to create something special that could be shared with the whole school community as 2020 draws to a close. We are fortunate to have many very talented musicians in Presentation College and this video showcases just a few of them. Click on the picture above to listen and enjoy. Students from Second, Transition and Fifth Year have been very busy over the last number of weeks preparing for the recent production of Blood Brothers.
