Sixth Year French pupils will enjoy a delicious traditional French petit dejeuner, while Third Year French students watched and participated in a French play “Le role”performed in the school library. There was also an art and construction competition with many amazing entries.

Students Make Seed Balls

Ms. Owens and Ms. Brennan organised Eco Unesco Workshops for their classes last week. Laura-Kate Howell treated the students to hands on Biodiversity Workshops. There was great excitement as students enjoyed Magenta style learning as they collaborated, shared and participated. The highlight was the actual making of their seed balls, which they then were able to bring home. Thanks to Carlow County Council for sponsoring these very educational and enjoyable workshops. The students are looking forward to finding out what grows from their seed balls in the spring and summer.

Our incoming First Years were welcomed to the school last Friday afternoon for their Entrance Assessment.  As well as meeting Mr. Murray the pupils met a fantastic group of students with whom they will become very familiar – the new Meitheal Team for 2019 – 2020 (see photograph). Our outgoing Team of Meitheal Leaders had their Awards Night and Graduation Ceremony on Friday evening in a packed Askea Church. Thanks to Ms. Doorley and Ms. Maher for mentoring, supporting and guiding the students throughout the year.
