Presentation College Win Local Derby! Presentation College Carlow: 2.12 Knockbeg College: 1.6 

Presentation College Carlow got off to an excellent start in the South-Leinster Hurling Championship on Thursday afternoon following a comprehensive victory over Knockbeg College on a score-line of 2.12 to 1.6. Opening points from Shane McCarthy and Aaron Power settled the Presentation team down after some early wides before a goal from Sean Perse put day-light between the teams. To their credit Knockbeg fought back with a brace of points from centre-forward John Piry to leave the half-time score 1.5 to 0.2.

An early second-half goal threatened a Knockbeg come-back but Presentation College never let their lead slip and responded with some excellent points from team captain Seán Buggy and James Ingram. Knockbeg battled hard and the game remained a tough contest until a goal from Seamus Bible sealed victory with five minutes to go. Presentatation College were outstanding in defence, well anchored by Paul Grey at full-back while Dylan McGrath and Robert Ward were an effective link between defence and attack in mid-field..
