Make-A-Wish Visit

Jan 13 2018

Transition Year students met with Darragh Wallace from Make-A-Wish Ireland on a recent visit to the school where he spoke to Transition Year classes about the work that the charity is involved in.
Make-A-Wish Ireland is a well-respected and popular children's charity. It grants the wishes of children between the ages of three and seventeen, who are living with life-threatening medical conditions. This is done to allow them to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Since 1992, the charity has granted wishes for more than 2,000 brave children across the country.
A wish granted is pure magic for the child, providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatments.
The Transition Year students are hoping to do some fundraising in the New Year with the proceeds going towards the Make-A-Wish Ireland charity, as they receive no government funding and rely overwhelmingly on the kindness of people and their generosity.
