Transition Year students recently enjoyed a talk from Bernadette who is part of Fairtrade Carlow. Bernadette spoke to the students about the importance of buying Fairtrade products and the huge benefits this has for both farmers and workers in Third World Countries. The Fairtrade products are stocked in all local supermarkets and carry the Fairtrade logo, which distinguishes them from other brands. TY students are looking forward to hosting Fairtrade Fortnight in the school in February, when they plan on running a wide range of activities with all year groups throughout the school.
