Well done to those who participated in Leinster Schools Track and field events on day one of the competition in Tullamore. Presentation College had ten individual athletes and two relay teams qualify to compete on day one in a variety of track and field events. All athletes competed to a very high standard and the following came away with medals:
Chloe Ryan won gold in both the senior girls shot putt and discus.
Jack Keating won gold in the senior boys 110 metre hurdles and silver in the senior boys 400 metre hurdles.
Jack Wickham took gold in convincing fashion in the Intermediate boys pole vault.
Éanna Dunican took home silver in the intermediate boys 100 metres.
Niamh O'Shea took home bronze in the junior girls triple jump.
The senior boys 4X400 metre relay team of Dylan McGrath, Marc Mulhall, Dylan Byrne and Jack Keating, managed to hold off stiff competition in what can only be described as a nail biting race to not only come away with gold but set a new Leinster record in the process.
