Former student delivers HPAT training

Oct 03 2025

Past pupil, Leo Bramrock, visited Presentation College last Friday - a Young SVP non-uniform day - to meet a group of Fifth and Sixth Year students who hope to study medicine in the future. They are preparing for the HPAT. The Health Professions Admission Test (HPAT) – Ireland is a multiple-choice aptitude test used to select students for entry into medicine in Ireland. It assesses non-cognitive skills like reasoning, logical deduction, and judgment, and does not require specific academic knowledge. The 2.5-hour exam is known for being challenging, with a strict time limit and unique question styles.

Leo achieved an incredible score of 197 points in his HPAT exam in 2025 which placed him in the 98th percentile.

The HPAT group were delighted to have the morning with Leo as he presented study tips and preparation techniques to them.

Leo is studying medicine at UCD. He ran the HPAT group in the school last year and agreed to meet the new HPAT group to pass on his insights. Leo is offering HPAT grinds online and can be contacted via Instagram @lockin_with_Leo.

Guidance Counsellors, Ms O'Sullivan and Ms Rothwell were particularly impressed with Leo's presentation and how he gave so freely of his time.  We thank Leo for his time and wish him all the best in his studies. #hpatprep #leavingcert2026
