Walk In My Shoes

Apr 29 2025

On Friday, our Student Council will host our first Walk In My Shoes event.  You are all asked to come to school in your PE uniform wearing funky shoes!  The W.I.M.S campaign aims to promote positive mental health, reduce the stigma around it and encourages us all to walk in someone else’s shoes for a while and therefore be more conscious of the struggles that others may be going through.
There will be a prize for the funkiest shoes on the day.  There will also be a raffle, tuck shop and fun activities organised by Student Council.  A donation from proceeds raised will be made to Carlow Regional Youth Services who provide a wellbeing, counselling and support service for young people in Carlow.
Today, Clodagh Broderick,  who recently completed a week-long programme about mental health awareness in St. Patrick's Mental Health Services in Dublin, spoke to Student Council about what the programme entailed.

Student Council is busy getting ready for WIMS and are really looking forward to seeing some fancy and funky footwear this Friday!
