Presentation College/Gaelcoláiste Carlow: 7.5
Coláiste an Átha, Kilmuckridge: 5.6
Six goals from Pres full-forward Brian Louw proved instrumental as a combination of hurlers from the Presentation College and Gaelcoláiste Carlow qualified for the Under 14 South-Leinster Final with a well-earned victory over Coláiste an Átha, Kilmucridge.
Played on Friday afternoon at the Presentation Grounds in ideal, but windy conditions, the Wexford team played with the aid of the elements in the first half but failed to make the advantage count as the Carlow outfit went in at the break with a 2.3-to-0.4-point lead. The first goal came from Louw after 20 minutes which levelled the scores at 1.1 to 0.4. Peter Brion Parle netted a second 5 minutes later before Danny McMahon and Seán Nolan added points to push the lead out to 5 on the stroke of half-time.
Louw had his first hat-trick shortly after the restart as the Barrow-siders took control of the game with other fine performances from Jack McDonald, Danny McMahon, Calum Nolan-Swayne and Ben Nolan. Despite a late rally of goals from Kilmuckridge the result never looked in doubt with the Pres deservedly going through to the final and setting up a date with hurling kingpins Ballyhale.
