Presentation College / Gaelcholaiste Carlow: 4.20 Knockbeg: 1.10
A combination of students from the Presentation College and Gaelcholaiste Carlow are through to the South-Leinster final after a comfortable victory over local rivals Knockbeg College. The game was played on Wednesday afternoon in wintery conditions at the Presentation grounds.
Coming into the game as favourites after two comprehensive victories in the group stages, the Pres started the game slowly as Knockbeg took an early lead with two points in the opening minutes. However, the home team soon got to the pitch of the game with Conal Fitzpatrick and James Ingram impressing in the forwards with some well taken points. Ingram, along with his name-sake Jonah netted two first-half goals which put daylight between the sides as the Pres went in at the break 2.11 to 0.3 in front.
Similar to the first half, Knockbeg started much the second much brighter as they chipped away at the deficit before goals from James Ingram and Shane McCarthy put the game beyond doubt. Next up for the Pres lads is a South-Leinster final against Ramsgrange Community School of Wexford, with the game taking place in the New Year.
