Students and school staff gathered this afternoon in Askea Parish Church to mark Presentation Day (21st November) and to celebrate together our Presentation tradition and ethos.
Led by our school Chaplain, Fr Liam Morgan, our school community prayed together and reflected on the challenges that face people today in our world. Fr Liam spoke of the courage that people need to face these challenges and to remember that God is always there to support us in our endeavours.
At the Offertory Procession students brought up to the altar numerous gifts that represented the vibrant, active and caring school that is Presentation College.
Throughout the mass the school choir, under the direction of Ms Maeve Lyons, sang delightfully and enhanced the spiritually and atmosphere of the occasion.
Towards the end of the mass Mr Ray Murray, Principal, thanked all students and staff for their excellent contribution and participation in this special school event. He especially thanked Sr Peggy Campion from the Carlow Presentation Sisters Community for her attendance at the mass.
