Congratulations to the winners of our Student Council WIMS 2026.  Once again this year we had a very successful day where our Student Council hosted a great event.  Winner of our "Funky Shoes" competition was Jessica Iovitini who won a trophy and a €25 voucher for our school canteen.  Our two hamper winners were Ms. Bradley and Dylan Farrell whose names were pulled out of the drum on the day by Mr. Murray.

Following on from the Student Council Bake Sale, tuck shop and proceeds raised at the door on our WIMS day, a total of over €1500 was raised.  This is a massive achievement which is the result of hard work and dedication by our Student Council.  All funds raised were donated to two very worthy causes.  A cheque for €500 was presented to Carlow Regional Youth Services who will use the money to help fund counselling in their Folláine Service, for young people in our area who may be struggling with their mental health.

A further cheque for €1000 was donated to the Teretta Foundation to help our students and teachers who will be travelling to Tanzania in October.  They will volunteer within the local community in partnership with the Irish NGO, The Teretta Foundation to support the most vulnerable children in the Kilimanjaro region through helping with the provision of education, nutritious meals, safe housing, healthcare and community empowerment. Our donation will go straight to a safe house established for children in Kilimanjaro.

A big thank you to students and staff in our school and local community who helped make our WIMS day such a success this year.
