Presentation College 2.17 Coláiste Íosagáin Portarlington 1.13 

Presentation College have qualified for the South Leinster Final after a superb come-back victory against Laois side Coláiste Íosagáin of Portarlingtion on Tuesday morning. 

Played in torrential rain at the Presentation grounds, the Barrow-siders overturned a six-point half-time deficit to secure a place in this year’s Final.

Playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half, Portarlington raced into a four-point lead before Danny McMahon opened the scoring for the home team with a well-taken free. Portarlington continued to dominate however and finished the half strongly to lead 1.12 to 1.6 at the break.

Presentation College emerged a determined outfit in the second half and produced a resolute defensive effort led by Callum Nolan Swayne and Adam Keating to hold the Portarlington attack scoreless for the remaining thirty minutes, while at the other end scores from McMahon and Killian Sweeney ensured victory for the home team.

Anticipation now builds towards the final which will be played in the coming weeks against either Mountmellick Community School or Ramsgrange Community School at a neutral venue.
