2013
We were delighted to learn that Presentation College and Blaise Smith, artist, have been shortlisted for the 2013 Allianz Business to Arts Awards for "Schoolwork".
This is the twenty-second year of the Awards and attracted the highest entry level ever. Although competition was stiff, there was a strong consensus among the Jury Panel around the shortlist and what makes a good project. To that end, the Panel recognised twenty-four projects for commendation - so our presence on the shortlist is a great achievement. "Schoolwork" has been shortlisted for the Jim McNaughton Perpetual Award for Best Commissioning Practice.
Representatives from Presentation College, along with Blaise Smith, have been invited to attend the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, 10th September in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin where the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan TD will be the special guest on the night and will present the awards.
Presentation College would also like to wish the best of luck to the Carlow based collaboration of Hairdressing by Connie Byrne Hyland/Arboretum Carlow/Unum/Merck Sharpe and Dohme/Castlerath Construction/Gordon Engineering and Pure Thinking Community Group/CRYS who have also been shortlisted in a different category for the Awards.
