Open Evening
Thank you to the many parents and primary school students who attended our Open Evening on Monday. It is always a great privilege to put the many fine attributes of our school on public display. Well done to our own students who conducted tours and put on displays throughout the school with great enthusiasm and pride. Enrolment forms are still available from the reception office in the school.
Celebrity Bainisteoir
Well done to all our past and present pupils who were part of the tremendous victory of the Killeshin football team in Celebrity Bainisteoir last week.
Carlow IT Open Day
A great day was enjoyed by all students in Transition Year at the Carlow IT Open Day last Friday. Our students were able to attend two out of a myriad of talks provided by the College. They also experienced a guided tour of the science labs, studios and aircraft hanger.
Second Year History Projects
Innovation and craftsmanship was the order of the day in a fine display of history projects produced by class 2A1. Recreations of Christopher Columbus’s caravels made from a variety of materials, clever boardgames based on the explorations, powerpoint presentations, world maps with a bygone flavour and performances of songs about the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries provided students with an alternative way of learning history from the Junior Cert syllabus. Well done to all!
Ladies Tag Rugby
All the girls in Fifth Year took part in a tag rugby tournament last Tuesday. The girls played our close neighbours the Gaelcolaiste with organiser and coach Wes Whitten in attendance. A great day was enjoyed by all!
