Fifth and Sixth Year Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) students from Presentation College enjoyed a highly informative and engaging enterprise field trip to the renowned Chocolate Garden of Ireland on Friday, December 5th.
Accompanied by teachers Vanessa Keating and Edwina Gibbons, the students were welcomed to the award-winning facility located near Rathwood, Tullow, where they gained firsthand insight into a thriving local business.
Sarah from the Chocolate Garden team provided the students with a captivating talk about the origins of The Chocolate Garden of Ireland, their journey as entrepreneurs, and the extensive product range that has made their business a local success story and owners Tom and Mary Healy graciously spoke about their journey as entrepreneurs. Their generosity and willingness to share their expertise was greatly appreciated by all attendees.
The highlight of the day for many students was the interactive chocolate modelling workshop, where they channeled their creativity and got hands-on with the product.
The trip successfully allowed the LCVP students to observe enterprise in action within a local context. The experience was invaluable for their studies, providing a real-world example of business operations, marketing, and the dedication required to build a successful brand. The students were thrilled with the day out, which offered a perfect blend of education and enjoyment.
The school wishes to thank Tom and Mary Healy and the team at The Chocolate Garden of Ireland for their exceptional hospitality and for providing such an enriching educational experience.
